Sometimes, we may find ourselves struggling with feelings we may not be able to name. We may feel anxiety and not understand what is behind that. We can feel stuck and overwhelmed—whether in our thoughts, emotions, relationships, work, inability to sleep or patterns of behaviour that do not serve us well.
If something is weighing on your mind, no matter how big or small, it is worth sharing. You deserve to be heard and supported. Now is the time to invest in your mental wellbeing.
Counselling with me could be the turning point you need.
I understand that life’s challenges can leave you feeling lost or uncertain, but you do not have to face them alone. Together, we can create a space where you feel comfortable opening up about what is on your mind. I am here to listen and support you at your pace. Whether it is figuring out how to handle anxiety, stress, navigate relationships, or find more balance in life and feel centred, we will develop strategies and work on practical steps to help you move forward and feel more in control.

A warm welcome and hello to you.
My name is Claire Banks, and I am a counsellor specialising in short and long-term counselling for adults aged 18+ in the UK. I work online or via telephone, so counselling can be conducted from the comfort and convenience of your own home.
Whilst I can offer support with a range of issues, I have a focus on working with anxiety counselling. My interest is to help bring clarity around what is causing the anxiety, whether it is past experiences, bereavement, unresolved emotions, or current stressors. Often, anxiety is fueled by underlying fears or beliefs that may not be immediately obvious.
Together, we can work to understand these deeper causes, helping you gain insight into your triggers. Through reflection, discussion, and practical coping strategies, we can address the root causes, enabling you to feel more in control and at peace with yourself.
I have been a volunteer bereavement counsellor for many years. I have always been deeply drawn to the subject of bereavement, recognising that it is a topic many find difficult to discuss. This is a counselling role that allows me to share my compassion with others and offer guidance through the profound pain of loss. Having experienced several losses myself, I understand the importance of having someone to talk to, who can help normalise the unpredictability of grief during such challenging times. Helping others find comfort, peace, and a way forward after loss is not only meaningful but also deeply fulfilling for me.
I have walked through my own challenges in life, which gives me a deeper sense of understanding and empathy when supporting others. I have faced many of the same difficulties my clients bring to our sessions, bringing decades of personal experience to my practice. Therefore, I can genuinely relate and offer insights that come from a place of shared experience. This connection allows us to build a strong, trusting relationship where you feel heard, understood, and validated. Together, we can create a safe space for healing and growth.
